After a few years spending time at several Virtual Airlines, searching for a VA that suited them and brought them what they were looking for; "Practicing their hobby free and without limiting rules and regulations from a VA"; the founders of DutchVA gave up their quest. A passion for flying is what brought the founders together in the end, to form DutchVA, a VA that does not wat the hiërarchy or stringent rules all the other VA's apply.

Why another VA?

Indeed a good question, we have been asking ourselves the same question since we know many VA's around. But believe me when I say that none of the other VA's that we've mat thusfar met our "criteria". We do not want to apply rules other then a few absolute nessecairy ones. We want to let our members free in what they do. We want realism in flight, but familiarism in the group. It's just that simple. We do not need to be big, we want to be different.

Wat do we do differently?

• No obligation to fly. We do not ask you to fly every (other) week or month. Just do it when you feel like it, but try to stay in touch. Flying on VATSim is no obligation, but we encourage it strongly.
• Geen agelimit of agefloor. You don't have to be of a certain age to join the group. The only thing that matters is that you can fly online or are willing to learn to fly. Motivation and an adult attitude are the keys to success. Over 65? No problem, you're just as old as you feel
• No mandatory Routes. You can depart and land on any airport where your aircraft can land. (Landing a boeing 747 on a grass-strip is not possible). The only thing we ask of you is that you stick to the official VATSim Routes (Vroute or VatRoute are good routeplanners).
• No Mandatory Aircraft. If you want to learn how to fly in a boeing 747 as a beginner, we do not prohibit you from doing so. If it is wise or right to do it, is not up to us. We can advise you, but in the end it's you in the cockpit, and we will do whatever is nessecairy to guide you along the way.
• No Nonsense. We don't like BS, and we don't like pages of information what can be told in 2 sentences. We say what we think and we expect the same from you.
• Participation. With us there will be no powerful and intimidating hiërarchy. Everyone has a vote, and that's how democracy works and should work.

We think that with these few examples we already set ourselves prety much apart from all the other VA's.
